Focus: Approved by God (Part 2)
Ministered by Pastor Donnette Norman

Everyone who is alive exists by God’s divine permission.
According to Acts 17:26–27, God determines the times and circumstances in which people live. We are not here by accident.

God has an eternal purpose, and He gives every person an opportunity to know Him and participate in His plan.

Throughout different dispensations, God has dealt with humanity according to specific responsibilities and measures of revealed truth.
People are accountable for the light, grace, and divine influence they have received.

God has never left Himself without a witness. In every generation, He finds people who are willing to obey Him and upon whom He can place His seal of approval.

However, being approved to live is different from being approved for ministry.

To truly belong to Christ and serve Him, we must be born again and receive the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 1:22 teaches that God seals us and gives us the Spirit in our hearts.

We cannot remain governed by the flesh; we must learn to live and walk in the Spirit. God’s approval for this dispensation is the seal of the Holy Spirit.

God desires His sons and daughters to genuinely live out this approval. He may place us in particular situations and positions where our obedience, character, and faithfulness are tested and demonstrated.

Many things we ask God for have already been placed within us in seed form. Our obedience is like water poured upon those seeds, causing them to germinate, grow, and eventually produce fruit.
Therefore, obedience is essential if we are going to experience everything God has placed within us.

2 Timothy 2:15 tells us to study to show ourselves approved unto God. Studying and applying God’s Word is therefore essential. We also need fellowship and spiritually mature teachers who can help us grow through the grace God has placed upon their lives.

Living in God’s approval requires us to study His Word, fellowship with believers, follow peace with all men and holiness, and continually talk to God through prayer.

The devil will bring distractions and opposition in an attempt to pull us away from living out our approval. Some things that can hinder us are not being born again, lack of knowledge, pride, and lack of contentment with God. We must recognize these dangers and remain focused.

If we truly desire to live out God’s approval, we must ask Him to reveal His way to us and then be willing to obey what He shows us. God has already provided every tool we need.

Our responsibility is to remain surrendered, obedient, and faithful so that our lives continually demonstrate that we are truly approved of God.
