🎯EC SUNDAY MESSAGE SUMMARY

March 22, 2026
Focus: Christ, The Righteousness of God - (Part 4)
Ministered by Pastor Andrew Norman

Adam, the first creation of mankind, disobeyed God and plunged all into sin. Jesus, however, being the first of his kind (the new creation, the godkind), was called the Last Adam.

He was called the Christ because He was first in history to have the Spirit of God rest and remain in his body; enabling Him to fully demonstrate God's character and live completely sinless while on the earth.  His body took on the sins of the world without ever delighting in them, thus qualifying Him to offer up His soul to God, dying for the world. Due to His sinless death, His Father raised Him from the dead, giving Adam's race, mankind, the opportunity to be made righteous (Romans 5:19).

Satan, on the other hand, from the beginning and even today, destroys families - especially the men - one of his greatest weapons being offenses. However, God's desire is to establish righteousness in us and He knows what it takes to bring each of us to the place where we desire it too. Therefore, He will allow good and bad situations to take place, so that we see our dire need to put our trust in Him. The painful experiences we face are certainly not meant to create offenses in our hearts, or become idols. If you have done so, it's time to let them go, receive God's forgiveness and offer same to your offenders.

Another tool God uses to help us meet His righteous standard is His Word. It cleanses the heart and creates a desire for same. Many believe that they can make it into heaven by just being a morally good person, but that's not true. We need the life of God within us, which makes us a 'new man', created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24). We must be baptized into Christ (Galatians 3:27), making us like Jesus, Christ on the earth, able to choose God in all situations.

Therefore, we should be examples of this great change for others and not stumbling blocks, dissuading them from serving God. We should never take on an unrighteous mindset because we fear being cheated, taken advantage of, or humiliated. If Jesus endured the cross and despised its shame, so can we (Hebrews 12:2).

Here are some guardrails as saints to help us walk righteously:

  • Always examining our hearts - Any evil thought, emotion, word, or act from us is an indication of iniquity in our hearts. (2 Corinthians 13:4)

  • Be watchful in prayer that we don't fall when tempted. (Matthew 26:41)

  • Embrace God's correction, regardless of the mouth He uses. (Hebrews 12:5)

  • Submit to God's authority. (James 4:7)

  • If you aren't saved, run to God today and receive His gift of righteousness.
