Focus: The Record of Jesus, The Lion King (Part 3)
Ministered by Donnette Norman

The Bible is the Word of God.  In His Word, there is a record of His Son (1 John 5:11-12).  God commands us to search His Word for this record of the key to eternal life, who is Jesus Christ (John 5:39).

His personage as both the Lion and the Lamb is displayed.  His image as the Lion King intricately and seamlessly connects with His character as seen in the scriptures.

Genesis 49:9-10 detail of Judah’s blessing. Therein, Judah is described as a lion's whelp whom the scepter shall not depart from until Shiloh, the person to whom the people gather, comes.

Jesus is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.  His success fulfilled the prophecies and created a new priesthood in the earth.  Thereafter, no longer would God operate with the Levitical Priesthood which was faulty as it could not produce righteousness.  He would operate with the Judean priesthood-  a better covenant with better promises (Hebrews 7:11-16, Hebrews 8:6).

Be not deceived though.  God has not forsaken His Hebrew nation.  He will fulfill His promises of faithfulness to them (Romans 8).

The new priesthood that Jesus created also calls for sacrifices.
These include:
  • Time
  • Praise
  • Worship
  • Our resources
  • Compassion on the ignorant and the out-of-the-way (Hebrews 5:1)
  • Sacrifices of obedience
  • Our preparation for His return as King
  • Contentment
  • Doing good
  • Communication

As we make these sacrifices, we prepare heartily for the return of our saviour.

All throughout the Bible are God’s testaments of His Son’s kingship. He has even inscribed it on  Jesus' vesture and thigh (Revelation 19:11-16).

The signs of the times portray a scene evident of the return of Jesus Christ as the King of kings and Lord of lords to rule and reign as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.  The Record of Jesus, the Lion King, is a timely reminder, and a prophetic declaration and proclamation from Jesus to remind us who we are in Christ.

Jesus, the real Lion King, has been roaring through the ages and when He roars, who can but prophecy the things of God? (Amos 3:8)

This word is a part of the outpouring of wisdom from God for us to prepare us for our soon-coming King.  Additionally, it is a provocation and a call to unsaved persons to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour (John 17:3).
